Did you record the Food Network episode?
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:12 am »
We gave our only copy of The Food Network episode that featured Urban Cannibals to Dave and Chris of Maglev Media (they rent an office above the Suntrust bank) so that they could make copies and embed it on our Facebook page. Unfortunately after many attempts to get in touch and get it back we have been informed that they lost it.

As many of you know already my grama Lily of The Roman Lily Cafe is not doing well and I had hoped to send her a copy so that the nurses could play it for her.

If anyone can help us out on this I would greatly appreciate it.

:( That sucks. I hope someone has a copy for you. Would you be able to talk to whomever you dealt with at The Food Network and see if they could get you a copy?

When we realized something must have gone wrong we contacted the woman who asked us to be on the show and she said she would try but no promises. so far nothing. the host of the show went on to open a restaurant and decided not to do a third season so...... not sure if it will lead to anything.

Not only does it suck in general that a company would LOSE something entrusted to them but it doubly sucks because it was probably a once in a life time experience for us and we have nothing to show for it. we are not even sure how they found us to begin with, what are the chances they will again?

And, the worst part is, i REALLY wanted my grama to see it!

What was the show name?  Food Network has tons of different shows.
Or maybe they're happy and content, living their little donut lives until the monstrous humans come along to rip their doughy flesh open with their teeth, sucking up their jelly innards.

Episode PO0209H, Cheap Meats, aired 5/23/2011.  Maybe take out a Craigslist ad?  Someone has to have it...

Posted on our Facebook page. Fingers crossed that someone somewhere still has it and didn't clear it out to make room. We didn't have cable when it aired and we had the viewing party at Holy Taco so we had no way to record it. We also knew the network was sending us 1 copy so we weren't worried about it. Never crossed our minds that our one copy would be lost by the company we trusted to take care of and return it safely.

I'll look and see if I still have it at home.  No promises, but a lot of local interest stuff like that with people I know in it I tend to leave on the tivo for a long time.  If I find it I'll burn you a copy.

There are some Torrent references to it out there. Seeing if I can get it downloaded.

Managed to record it but the quality could be better. Cap'n, know of any software that can record from the website instead of the screen?

I'm fetching the Flash file now and I'll see if I can convert it into something reasonably usable. Really want that HD AVI, though.

Yeah, not gonna happen. Let me know if you get anything good. What I got was watchable, but not spectacular quality.
