Beagle and Dalmation: Patterson and Glenwood
« on: November 01, 2011, 09:37 am »
On the run, stopped for a short visit but I couldn't catch 'em. Wearing tags, on their way out to Glenwood!

Wow, they're getting further from home. Has anyone called Hollywood?

What do you mean check with DAS? To see if they have them? Sounds like they don't if they are headed toward Glenwood. That Beagle is some serious escape artist.

Arrgh.  My beagle mix is a great escape artist too...that's why I don't let her in the backyard without being on a leash, or super-securely on the runner.

Yes, being that far away they could end up in DAS if they don't come home. They are bravely going further and I fear for their safety.

I do not have H-Wood's number, and I wasn't sure if he was in town or not. At 10:12 the dalmation was on Glenwood again, without the beagle. I told him to get back home and he began running. Did the beagle get home? Did anyone call Hollywood?

The dogs came back around 1pm.
Or maybe they're happy and content, living their little donut lives until the monstrous humans come along to rip their doughy flesh open with their teeth, sucking up their jelly innards.

Thankgoodness! I was so worried that either beagle met demise or someone snaffooed him!

Dude, poor Hollywood. I called him Saturday morning after spotting the dogs heading down Van Vleck as I was leaving for last-minute EAV-o-ween supplies. He's tried everything short of posting armed guards in turrets to keep those dogs in the fence.

He can't keep them out, either.  They get back into the yard on their own.

Leash walk?  Miyagi gets absolutely no unsupervised time in the yard.  none.
Yes, I agree, with that I knew someone close that smoked and went to chewing tobacca. Used a spit can which was yuck, and then the door of his car.~Denise

Is the beagle digging? There HAS to be a way to keep them in the yard, for both the dogs and Hollywood's sake. Leash walking can certainly help some dogs.  I bit the bullet and dug a trench around my neighbors yard and stapled chicken wire onto our wood fence and buried the chicken wire down a foot. That and neutering finally worked.

We attached 3' feet of rabbit fencing to the bottom of our fence, it extends horizontally into our yard, about 6" below grade.  That immediately put an end to our escape artist dogs digging at the fenceline.

I think it was maybe $30 for each 50 foot roll, plus a few bucks for some biodegradable landscaping stakes to hold it in place.
