Our neighbor found this dog and there's no room at our pet Inn. Does anybody know of a responsible person looking to adopt a Rottie or that would be willing to foster? We can provide vetting, food, crate, and anything else he might need. He legally has to stay at animal control for 5 days to see if we can find his owners, but if they don't show up, we'd really like to bail him out of jail. He stayed on our front porch last night and didn't make a peep (we couldn't bring him in because we have the puppies at our house and I don't want them exposed to an unvaccinated dog). He still squats when he pees and his man parts haven't matured, so we are thinking he's pretty young, maybe 6-7 months old. I tried to look at his teeth, but he thought I was trying to make out, so it was hard to get a good look. He's about 60 lbs but very underweight.  If he's as young as we think he is, he'll probably be 80-90 lbs when he gets to a healthy weight and finishes growing. He's super calm, not a jumper. He was scared at first but really warmed up to us quickly. He has shown no signs of aggression.

Thank you! Luckily, we've had really good luck finding the owners and talking them into letting us spay/neuter and repairing their fences or Coalition to Unchain Dogs builds them one so the dogs no longer roam. We actually are doing that today with a pit bull. I'm hoping we can find his owners too or unfortunately they usually just go out and get another unfixed dog that gets out. If no one shows up though, we'd really like to bring him into our rescue if we can find a foster.

Do you have any idea if he is good with kids? My friend lost his male rottie to cancer a couple months ago.
He has a 2 year old and there's an older female dog (medium size).
I will see if he might be interested.

I don't know for sure since we don't have kids, but he was super calm so that would be a plus with small kids. He didn't jump on us once. We didn't test him with any of our dogs because we are being careful not to expose the puppies to anything.

This boy actually has a waiting list at animal services if his owners don't show up, thanks for spreading the word! :)

What a doll! We went to the Humane Society on Saturday to see what kind of dog we agree on... unfortunately he's just too big... best of luck to you in finding a family for him.   <3

Mudd, did you see the post about Joe?  He's from the home of an elderly woman in OP who can't take care of her pups anymore.  He's smaller and his face makes me want to zerbert it.

He's adorable! I noticed something about being ok with other dogs, but not other pets... we have a cat that is going to freak when we get a dog... and we're really hoping to do something in April after we get home from a trip... hmmm....

Aw, yes.  The cat rules the roost.  I understand completely and I hope you find the perfect addition to your home.  :)

I don't know if he's been checked out with cats, but Lisa would know!  :)

A buzzer found this little pup and have been fostering her. She is pretty small and we expect her to be around 35 lbs full grown.
