Got a brindle pit & a mutt in my yard.
« on: February 19, 2012, 09:41 am »
The pit has on a red collar, and is extremely friendly--un neutered male.  The other doggle is maybe some kind of rotty mix, and he is not agfgressive, just scared.  The pit is tied up on my porch, as I can't have him inside.  I've got a dog aggressive dog and two cats, plus two kids, so I sort of need to decided what to do about him.  If anyone can foster him or knows where he might belong let me know, please asap!

are these the two dog that might have mauled the cat around the corner from you?  If so please call animal control.
I don't have kids.  I've never figured out what they're for.

Good idea.  I think the brindle lives on Clifton, next to the place with the fire breathing dragon.
Or maybe they're happy and content, living their little donut lives until the monstrous humans come along to rip their doughy flesh open with their teeth, sucking up their jelly innards.

that's what I was thinking both about them maybe being the cat eaters and about the pitt being the one who lives next to the dragon.

I'd like the cat person to confirm if it might be them.  If so I'll call animal control.

Doesn't Whit recommend calling animal control for unneutered dogs so the owners will be fined and encouraged to get them fixed?

I'm going to talk to Steve's neighbor about fixing him if he gets back to me.

My next door neighbors are going to keep him overnight.  Apparently, he'd been in their yard for a few days, but got out.  They are able to keep him for a few days, but they will probably need a big crate to borrow.  I have that doggie play pen, but I don't think it will hold him.

Is the black one a male as well? It looks like the one that lives (or hangs out at a lot) at a house on Jobeth, across from FSW. If it's the same one, the dog is always loose and comes up to me and my dog when we're walking...

Talked to the owner and he is 99% sure he is going to let us fix him.  He was nearly in tears when I said I had him and very appreciative. He also is willing to let me help him fix his fence or find a good way to keep Bill from getting out. Very positive experience with a guy who clearly loves his dog.

As far as the black and tan kid goes...I dunno, he escaped before I could examine.

I'll try to snap a picture next time I see him. I'll also try and speak to the residents of the house that I see him at. He seems like a very sweet dog—just needs to get fixed.

Thank you Leah.  I'm so glad you were the one reuniting Bill with his owner. I hope he takes you up on your offer to help him get him fixed.  As I told you in our call earlier tonite we can help with the cost of that.

Yes.

I was out of town this weekend without phone or internet access, so I just got Leah's voicemail.

Has anyone seen the brindle today?  We saw a mid-size brindle running down Brannen (away from Bouldercrest/Fayetteville) around 5 or so last night with a (different?) black dog.  It stopped when we whistled at it from a good bit away, but ran off before we could get closer.  I was worried I would see one of them laying in the road on the way to work today  :(
