Joe Needs a Foster or Forever Home
« on: February 13, 2012, 08:21 am »
Hi.  This sweet boy was rescued over in Ormewood Park.  Oh, if we didn't have two already and a cat with a heart condition...  Can those of you with contacts help us get him on one or more of the adoption boards?

"As sweet a pup as Joe is (formerly known as Tojo), unfortunately, we will no longer be able to foster him after February 28th.  If you can foster him, know anyone who could foster him, or have any leads on a permanent home for Joe please contact me soon.  I'm including a short bio, some pics, and a flyer of this handsome young boy.  Thanks so much.

Joe was rescued from an unfortunate situation where he and another dog were kept inside, literally all the time.   He is a 36 lb. mixed breed about 6 months old, a sweet cuddlebug.  In just a few days he was potty trained, crate-trained, and learned “sit” and “stay.”

He is an energetic boy who LOVES to play, so he would be best in a home with another active dog or in a home without pets where he receives lots of love, exercise, and training.

He has had all his shots and has been neutered, so he is ready for his new permanent home.
For more information or to meet Joe, please email Lisa: Lsatterfield@gmail.com"

Could someone elaborate on this please? It's kind of confusing. Was he also being abused or something?

I believe the former owner has dementia and has been put in a nursing home.  Susykm can verify.

That's my understanding as well.  From what I understand, she loved dogs, but wasn't able to care for them any longer.

I've communicated with a friend who's directly involved in helping find Joe another foster or forever home.  The good Samaritans who have him now cannot keep him and need to find an alternative STAT (before Feb. 28). Please share, reshare, and ask others to do the same.

Here's a reminder so you don't have to scroll back up:

He was rescued from an unfortunate situation where he and another dog were kept inside literally all the time. He is a 36 lb. boxer mix about 6 months old, a sweet cuddlebug who loves to please. He's leash-walkable, has learned to sit and come, and now happily sleeps in a crate next to our bed.

He is an energetic boy who LOVES to play with dogs, so he would be best in a home with another active dog or in a home without pets where he receives lots of love, exercise, and more leash training.

He's up-to-date on shots and neutered. Please contact Lisa below if you're interested being the next good samaritan and possible forever home for Joe.
