if i'm not totally comatose after the wheelbarrow festival on sat, i'll try to make it down   how long are folks normally out there, in case i can't make it for 9?

2-3 hours depending.  Whatever amount of time given is always appreciated.

"The July EAV cleanup will take place on Sunday, July 18th at 9:00 am.  Please join us in making our village a better place by maintaining our environment and fostering a sense of pride and community.  We will meet in front of Joes Coffee shop, and send teams out into the neighborhood to tidy up the streets.  We will also be working in and around the village.  If you would like to become more involved in our efforts please join us and bring a friend or two.  We continue to have fewer volunteers than we really need and we do rely only on you, the residents of EAV.
 
This Fall we will be planting in the village and planning the Holiday lights.  If you have interest in volunteering please contact Mr Van Epps at beautification@eaca.net

If you frequently walk the neighborhood, please take a bag with you and pick up some litter.  Every little but helps."

I would love to participate but I have a pre-scheduled regular appointment every Sunday from 9-11.  Do you stay out there long enough for me to come by and at least help from 11-12?

I can't speak officially, but in the summer heat we have usually been knocking off before 12.

 I notice Clue's post says folks will be assigned various places in the neighborhood to clean up, so I'll bet you could contact  Mr Van Epps at beautification@eaca.net and get assigned a spot to clean up at your leisure on Sunday.
You would miss the camaraderie of working with your neighbors, but getting the neighborhood clean is the main point.

He will be more than happy to take however much time you can give.  Normally people are welcome to come when they can make it.  As Mr. Ice said shoot him an email.
