Zone 6 Thanksgiving Dinner
« on: November 08, 2011, 09:47 pm »
I know this was in the newsletter, but I wanted to highlight for those interested in showing their thanks.  SAND had a heard start on EA in raising money, but I know we can beat them!!

Various neighborhoods in Zone 6 are pooling resources for a memorable Thanksgiving Day dinner for our offices in Zone 6.

The plan is to have a catered meal delivered for each of the three shifts at the precinct. This awesome idea helps make sure every officer working the holiday gets a good meal, and it means that we don't have to do the leg work to sign up volunteers to cook and deliver the meals ourselves! Virginia Highlands is coordinating the efforts and will select restaurants in the Zone 6 area, so it helps support our local businesses.

If you'd like to pitch in for this event, please use the PayPal link on the EACA site (bottom right) by November 15 and designate the donation is for Zone 6 Thanksgiving Dinner.  Minimum donation is $5.  Each neighborhood is donating a minimum of $100.

They can also use some volunteer hosts/hostesses from different neighborhoods for setup, serving and cleanup. Contact John Wolfinger at  safety@vahi.org if you'd like to be hands-on with your support of our precinct.

We will be joining our other participating friends in Morningside, Inman Park, Edgewood, Poncey-Highlands, the SAND Communities, Piedmont Heights, and Lake Claire, to name a few.

Thanks!!

I volunteered and got this email

"We are feeding them on wednesday to cover more personnel.instead of the lighter crew on thanksgiving.

Shifts are 1:30-3-30 and 9-10:30pm"

I don't have kids.  I've never figured out what they're for.

If cars are passing you on the right you are in the wrong lane.

Just to make it easier to find, the donate button was moved to the top of the right banner under the EACA logo.  As you enter your amount in just keep going through, and you will be given a place to designate for what you a donating.

This was very nice event.  There was a ton of food.  All of the Zone 6 Officers were very thankful!
