Not sure if this is where to post this or not, but it's certainly south of East Atlanta, so...

Assuming that we get into the charter school and stay here, we would be looking for something really cheap that is 3 bedrooms with a little extra space.   Found a great house in Benteen Park that's in our price range & is about 1700 sq feet.  It really fits our needs size wise, and is super cute, but we're unsure about the area.  It's on Elleby, very close to the prison, so I'm just wondering if anyone lives down that way or has any opinons or words of advice.

And, FYI, I just looked on the APD crime map & EAV has had 13ish burglaries in the past month, but BP has had none.  There seems to be a ton of car thefts just south of there, and of course BP is smaller in area (and population too) than EAV, but I just thought that was sort of interesting.

We live close to there behind the prison and we love it! We had many more break in attempts and stolen property when we lived in EAV on Gresham.

I spend a lot of time in the newish subdivision off Custer....I drive through the old neighborhood very often. It always seems pretty quiet. The car thefts seem to be because of the close proximity to New Town Circle and Thomasville. We walk the dogs through that neighborhood and everything seems decent. Good luck.

A friend/coworker of mine use to live on Marion which is just around the corner from Elleby in the newer subdivision Jeffrey mentioned. She loved the neighborhood and never heard of any major issues with crime...certainly no more than any other area is SE Atlanta.
