I came home last night to find some dickweeds dumping trash again in the vacant lot across from our house (on Cecilia Dr. off of Bouldercrest). I got the tag number on their white pickup, and a really crappy picture on my camera phone (my hands were shaking, I was so mad). It looks like they left paint cans and other trash, possibly from a construction site - different from the usual apartment eviction-looking trash we usually get over there. I reported it to Dekalb Co. Sanitation, but they said it might have to go through the property owner, whether it's prosecuted or not. I think the church up the street owns the lot, and they've seemed disinclined to do anything about it in the past, so we'll see.
The truck had a logo on the side, "(Something) Waste", but I was so focused on getting the tag number that I forgot it. Is there any way I can take the tag number and figure out who owns it? I'd like to know for sure what the name was, so I can let people know to keep an eye out for it. A long shot for sure, but my outrage is trumping my pessimism on this one.
In the meantime, I'm thinking of making a sign that says "NO DUMPING ON CHURCH PROPERTY - GOD IS WATCHING YOU" and nailing it up in the dead of night. Not that it will help, but it might make me feel better.
