East Atlanta Business Association (EABA)...take 2?
« on: January 30, 2012, 11:06 pm »
Do you own a business in East Atlanta?
Do you think your business should have a voice to the community and the City?
Do you believe East Atlanta should have a business association?

If this sounds like you please join Councilmember Natalyn Archibong and the East Atlanta Community Association, February 29th from 6-8pm in The Graveyard’s The Basement, for an exploratory session on the possible redevelopment of the East Atlanta Business Association.

If interested in attending, whether as an owner as a representative of a business, please email president@EACA.net to RSVP.

I have to say I am very very pleased to see our council person involved and leading this venture for her community.  Lets hope this encourages dialog to become more deeply involved in the neighborhood she calls home and has asked to represent!

As the original creator of EABA, as well as serving three terms as the President, Natalyn is very interested the recreation of this organization.  In the end it will ultimately come down to the interest level and commitment of EA business owners, but I know there are many that believe in the worth of such an association.

Just as clarification the purpose of this meeting is to gauge the current interest level in the reforming of the East Atlanta Business Association while presenting reasons from a community and city standpoint as to why it is important for all of East Atlanta. In addition, further description will be given as to the role that EACA can and will have in the assistance of the possible recreation. The intended audience is current EA business owners or a representative of that business.

copied and pasted info to the owners at Midway.

PS: do you think EACA will distribute the info via flyers/letters for the biz owners who aren't Buzzers?

Yes!

I am hoping to start delivering them next week with the help of Steve D's Kevin, among others.  I just wanted to go ahead and get this posted sooner rather than later.

Micki Mouse,
They will be coming to you soon.  It is so nice to feel like I have my own personal copy staff that makes it so easy.

Many invitations hand delivered by myself and Steve D's Kevin, many more to go.  We have seen many business owners, some I had never met before, with many very interested in attending.

With the latest parking issue behind SunTrust, this is just one more example of why East Atlanta needs a business association that can speak to items such as this by being a voice for the business community as a whole while still a support system for individual businesses.

This is one more example of why there needs to be a EABA to make some of these businesses understand their health depends on the health of the Village as a whole.

If the LIT Property Services guys show up at the meeting, somebody kick them in the balls for me, mkay?

Travis from Village Vintage or whatever the car shop next to Village Fitness is going to be called said they were going to be there.
Yes, I agree, with that I knew someone close that smoked and went to chewing tobacca. Used a spit can which was yuck, and then the door of his car.~Denise

Met those guys earlier this week when we stopped by.  Mike gave us the tour, inside an out.  I love the idea of making the wait area vintage like they have.  Also kudos to them for the wonderful clean-up behind the building.

There will be light appetizers, drink tickets, and a cash bar. We will start with a mixer and then Clue has arranged for a couple of guest speakers to discuss the benefits of restarting EABA, hope to see you there :)
