The Old round bank at Moreland and Eastland by Kroger
« on: November 01, 2006, 12:39 pm »
So, I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about, but that freaky looking old 70's bank building near the IGA on Moreland- well, they cleared all the overgrowth around it.  Soooo, my roommate and I went to check it out.  It is FANTASTIC!  The front door is open so with a teeny bit of fence clibing i walked right in.  Apparently someone was moving in and doing so renovations on their new home.  There was some bamboo cut from the center of the bank and they were using it as a decorative border on the new glass wall they built.  There was evidence of a little living there but it wasn't food debris, mostly construction.  And its awesome in there.  It would make a great house because the inside of the circle is all glass windows, it gets great daylighting.  There is also a teeny pond in the middle where the giant tree is growing.  I'm moving in.  Don't tell anyone.

Oh, and surprisingly there aren't any cans, beer bottles, food wrappers, condoms etc (although there WAS plenty of papers and construction debris and old furniture).  The kids in the area must be blind because this would be a great party house.
Yes, I agree, with that I knew someone close that smoked and went to chewing tobacca. Used a spit can which was yuck, and then the door of his car.~Denise

I want someone to open a bar in it and call it The Vault!

It would also be a really cool gallery.

It could also be the scummier PieBar- like Post apocalyptic piebar where we can actually wear what we want and not have to be fancy.

I have been wondering what that building was forever and now I know, it was a bank? doesn't look like a bank, I thought for ages that maybe it was a weird church or uber modern casa that got abandoned. I would love to see the inside or even the outside up close. I passed it last night looks like they cut back lots of undergrowth.

It was an old C&S bank.  It is where our family banked when I was a kid.  I still have on of their old key chains.  Probably worth a couple cents today$$$

Go look.  Its okay, the neighbors won't kill you and the man who lives in the woods is harmless and will leave you alone.

That is so what the dude tells his girlfriend and sexually promiscuous buddies right before they go into the bank and end up in a zillion small pieces, except for the chick who won't have sex, who lives but must undergo years and years of therapy after seeing her boyfriend filleted by the "harmless man" with a boning knife.

Sweet. I am SO going there right after lunch.
Or maybe they're happy and content, living their little donut lives until the monstrous humans come along to rip their doughy flesh open with their teeth, sucking up their jelly innards.
