Bread Starter and Quart Mason Jars
« on: January 07, 2012, 11:05 pm »
Looking to make some bread tomorrow (Sunday) using the spent grain from some homebrew beer I made with a friend last weekend, and the recipe calls for a cup of starter.  I made some starter tonight, but it says not to use it for 24 hours, which means I'll probably be baking sometime around 4 AM on Monday, which doesn't sound like too much fun.  Anyone have some starter they'd be willing to share?

That said, I'm not giving up on my starter entirely.  Only problem is that it was recommended to put it in a quart mason jar, and all I have is pints, so I put it in 2 pints, but that seems less than ideal.  Anyone have a spare quart mason jar laying around?  I could even offer pints in trade.

PM me when you can pick up one of my spare Mason jars. If you need to borrow any half-gallon Mason jars, let me know. I use these for making margaritas...INDIVIDUAL SERVINGS! (That way you are good for a full afternoon!
