Dinner Tonight
« on: July 10, 2011, 07:03 pm »
I made a crostata for the first time tonight. I made the dough for the crust yesterday and refrigerated it. The filling has leek, swiss chard, ricotta, mascarpone, parmesan, and eggs. It is delicious. I got the recipe from Ann Burrel on Foodnetork.com.

I had cookies.  From peppridge farm.
Yes, I agree, with that I knew someone close that smoked and went to chewing tobacca. Used a spit can which was yuck, and then the door of his car.~Denise

We had pasta with leftover crabmeat and roasted peppers in a cream sauce, with local haricots verts sautéed with garlic and pine nuts and caprese salad and a dry Alsatian Pinot Blanc.

Best I could put together on short notice.  Had to work today.

Tomorrow it's risotto made with local wild mushrooms.  Yes, I picked them myself.  (trust me, I'm a doctor)

ATLMan that sounds so good! Sometimes I miss "real" bread.
We had a quick curry with stuff from the garden. Great way to use up endless amounts of yellow squash.

Can;t you call them green beans when they aren;t listed on a menu?

haricots verts are a TYPE of bean, not just any bean. I tend to eat them raw from the garden because they are so sweet and delish!!!

I am going to try out the Barefoot Contessa's rice pudding recipe for desert tonight. It uses basmati rice and raisins. Can't wait.

I am trying out a new recipe for barbequed pulled pork in the slow cooker. The house is starting to smell wonderful.
