Burgess-Peterson garden needs your 1-quart pots
« on: December 07, 2011, 03:07 pm »
Hi All,
We're planting daffodils outdoors and in pots and although we had a lot of pots already, we can use some more. The bulbs are so big that 1-quart pots work the best.
We'd also take your 3- and 4-inch pots for the seedlings will be planting starting in January. You can drop them in the school office marked for the garden, drop them at my house (PM for address) or I will pick up in 30316.
Thanks, gardeners!

Are you looking for real, solid pots - or the plastic ones that you buy stuff in at plant sales, Home Depot, etc.?

Plastic is what I was thinking of.
But if you have terra cotta that you'd like to donate, we can use those for a project.

I don't have any terracotta ones, sadly.  But I have a bajillion of the plastic ones.  I can shake off the spiders, and drop them off somewhere - or leave them in my carport for pickup.

I think we have some we can donate. I probably won't get around to checking until this weekend, but I can drop them at your house when I do!

I have some extra pots at home, and some terracotta at  HC.
Can you meet me at HC tomorrow between 10 and noon so you can pick out what you'd like? The extra gallon pots: some on the front porch of pink house just sitting in a stack on the inside porch, some up by the recyclers on the (facing) right side of the pink house, tucked between recycling bin and fence. I'll need some, but not that many. Big Larry was VERY generous this spring :)

Thanks, StrawberryThief.
Thanks, Flower Lady. I'll come by after school in the morning, which should be around 11.

Just go ahead then, I'm still at HC at that time.

I'll admit to being shocked at this thread.

We had almost 70 kids in kindergarden and it was too cold to plant our bulbs outside.  We needed every last one!

Plus in January we are planting more than 600 seedlings. We bought some flats and pots, but I'd rather supplement with donations, especially when I know lots of gardeners have pots hanging around that they don't need.

We can wait until spring when you get a bigger pile. Thanks.
