I really appreciate the great info. I'll check into other pepper and tomato varieties.  I will also get a few seedlings from BPA and Oakhurst (which we visited yesterday and was super inspired by). Growing here seems way more complicated than it was in Los Angeles.  That class sounds awesome! Where can I pre-register? What time is it?

It's not hard to garden here but definitely different from LA. When I saw my friend there last year she and I picked dozens of tomatoes from volunteers that came up in her compost. Most of us aren't that lucky here.

Hop on into the East Atlanta Public library. I don't know if they figured out pre-registation or not yet, but they will. The combination of clay soil, heat and humidity can make gardening here challenging but rewarding. We also have more urban wildlife than most of LA does, and that also may create need for creativity. Squirrels LOVE tomatoes  >:O

Squirrels loved my 50 tulip bulbs I planted in November....not one came up all eaten!  I even burlapped and mulched them down.  Ugh!

That's very sad. My daffodils are about done and the iris are getting going. Spanish bluebells should hit it soon. The smiley face and BPA planted by first graders are starting to bloom. Smiley will be pretty cute.

I planted 50 bright red tulip bulbs at my first house.  They all came up and the puppy ate the blooms off each and every one of them.  I had 50 green stalks.
Or maybe they're happy and content, living their little donut lives until the monstrous humans come along to rip their doughy flesh open with their teeth, sucking up their jelly innards.
