A river runs through it. Srsly. We had to go out with pick axes and shovels to create make-shift swails to keep the out-building from flooding. This is N-V-T-S, nuts.

We had some serious seepage in our dug-out crawlspace.  I was watching the water coming out of the clay.  Curious to know today's rainfall total.

Chris Holcolm (sp?) just tweeted 1.97 inches officially for Atlanta but I know we had closer to 3 inches at our house based on my fish buckets.

I was away on the weekend, but my not very well placed rain guage measured that our yard received 6"!!! Our yard flooded once again, about 2.5 feet up on the pink house, and filled the yard (and our stairwell). This never happens unless we get at least 3" in an hour.

As a point of note (and something I'm always wondering when I see these updates), the 30-year average rainfall for January is 4.2 inches, so we're a good 50% above average for January rainfall.

(For reference: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ffc/?n=rainfall_scorecard)

I wish I could find a resource for average YTD rainfall by date instead of month...
