Watered all my potted plants and found the nest (we discovered the nest a few days ago in my hanging planter on the porch) has two eggs in it!! SO excited....working out a way to keep it watered without disturbing the nest and  eggs. Herbs are doing great.

Get those water spikes. Cool for the nest!  I'm hiring my landscape guy for tomorrow morning to take care of business, even the gutters! Yay for keeping independent companies afloat.

Cowboi, who is your gutter-guy?

He's a ole man that's been doing my yard, fence, and gutters for me. His name is Ozie Walker and he's honest and reasonable.
Here's his number. 404-281-8630, tell him Lisa from East Atlanta rec.d him.
He's an old guy but has workers that work for him. He's done me right for over a year now.

thanks, I usually clean the gutters, myself, but am getting a little tired of climbing and having to move the ladder.

I miss the gutters on my house in DC that were hung from the fascia with hinges, and were easily cleaned by using a telescoping pole to flip the gutters, dumping their contents on the ground.

I've never seen a product like this in the ATL area.  :(~

yea, I understand that. I want good gutters one day, one's you don't have to worry too much about. They came with the house and at least we have them. haha.
He'll be at my house tomorrow sometime after 8am in an ole white van, he's really a great ole guy. He doesn't like my wife very much but loves me. hahaha. If you're not working, I'll call you when he arrives if you'd like and you could meet him. I don't allow them to walk on the roof at all.

I LOVE my leafguard gutters.  Whenever I get up and look in them there is nothing in them at all - not 1 leaf or sprig of pine straw.  The gutters that came with the house were literally hanging off and full of crap with little trees growing out of them, probably hadn't been cleaned in years.

just spend the last 5 hours mowing & tearing out english ivy from our backyard....cutting down privet TREES (still have to dig out the rootballs), tearing out thorny vines that had grown up into the trees and were literally about 50 feet long each....

Good god, I'm tired.
"everything is coconut these days." in related news, she went birding in Sri Lanka and had some great coconut water there.

aaahh, tell me more about these leafguard gutters. I really want to replace the gutters we have cause they are the old fashion kind and I hate them. I'd love some copper gutters but hey, I don't live in a mansion.

A bit pricey, but guaranteed for life to not ever need cleaning.  If they do build up anything, the leafguard people will clean them for you.  They make them right in your front yard, made to exact lengths needed so there are no seams.  Leaves slide right over the top and water drips into the gutter underneath.  http://leafguard.com/

nice, I'll give them a call when the time is upon us to replace the gutters. Hopefully sooner. Do you get  a referral or anything Insano?
