I'm 100% confident you will also be on some NSA watch list, and a million marketing lists, but hey, FREE T-SHIRT!

I'm 90% confident this is another way Google is developing a database of interest to decide where to lay their fiber first. Worth it for that, as I see it.

They aren't color-coded based on how long you've already been in the database of interest?

Eh, I think everyone who signed up wanting news of their progress/previously showed interest got the email with the link. I did.
Though, since you can send the link to anyone, yeah, more marketing reach.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity but they've always worked for me.

Don't underestimate the importance Google Alphabet places on using data to make decisions. They've said they will prioritize their builds based on the interest of "Fiberhoods"; this seems like an obvious extra pass to gather data on that.

I'd love to see all of the data they'll look at to make those decisions. They know, essentially, everything about everybody.
