Title: Spanish Tapas!

We're hosting a party and are doing Spanish tapas (which we really enjoy making) and have some menu ideas for 8-10 different tapas, but I thought I'd throw out a request for favorites from Buzzers. Hopefully they match up with what we have in mind so far. Anyone want to throw your thoughts out there on nommy tapas?   |@|

Interesting, because I thought about adding those (since they're so easy) but didn't think they were "complex" enough. This makes me rethink that.

They're good, they're easy, and they're a safe food for any non adventurous eaters.  You can fancy it up by making your own aioli--or a couple types of dipping sauces.

Our group is quite adventurous but there will be kids so that's a good addition. Thank you!!  I make everything myself so I'll do aioli and some different sauces.

I'm going to Barcelona Wine Bar tonight for dinner because of you.

Here's what I'm ordering for me and SB to share:

jamon serrano
manchego
Jamon Iberico
white fish ceviche
patatas bravas
grilled hanger steak

and a pitcher of sangria.  Bam.

Jamon Iberico, manchego, olives, olive oil platter
Spanish omelet with sofrito
Salmorejo
Various croquettes
Fried Spanish peppers (stuffed with cheese first...duh)
Carpaccio manchego toasts
Fishermen's clam stew
Ceviche
Spanish broad beans
Shrimp ajillo

Martin is making the bread to dip into all of this awesomeness and we'll add the patatas bravas, I'll do extra sofrito and aioli.

Unless some other ideas pop up, this is a good spread, I think (that's what she said).

You could do a gazpacho.  Great for warm weather, too.

Good call. We thought about that, but the Salmorejo is so darned good.  I'll see what kind of produce I can get and decide from there!

Pan con tomate
Calamares a la romana!


Looks like you have a good list though.

Easy Sangria Recipe:
3 liters of red wine (the better the wine, the better the sangria)
1 750 of Brandy
1 cup of orange liquor
1 cup of orange juice
400 grams of sugar (a whole small bag of sugar)
1 liter of club soda (when you are ready to serve)
whatever fruit you like (I always use lemons, limes, oranges and pears)

If you are going to do wines look for some off the beaten path wines----  Reds from Toro and whites from Rueda

Pan con tomate is a good call...I can easily do it ahead of time.
