Grilling Storage Station
« on: June 15, 2014, 01:26 pm »
I want to get my husband (and me, but he prefers to grill, I prefer my kitchen) a grilling storage station and can only find the cheap plastic Home Depot ones. My "ideal" is two levels, one bottom area for storage of charcoal, lighters, smoking chips, the pizza stone and other larger grill tools, a flat surface for food prep, drawers for matches and lighters, small tools like meat thermometers, and a back part that closes with hooks for BBQ tools and shelves for mop and rub bowls.

Has anyone come across such a thing or maybe put one together?  It will be under cover at the cabin, so metal is ok. It will be separate from the grill and smoker, not integrated.

Thoughts from my BBQ friends?

You might look at the Ace Hardware on Scott.  They have a lot of nice grilling stuff and nice patio storage things.  I've been eyeing a redwood cooler end-table there for a few years.

http://www.cedarshed.com/01-garden-hutch.html  - small lean to garden storage shed combined with a stainless steel kitchen island from Ikea could be your most affordable option. I looked at some of the folks who whole sale outdoor stainless kitchen parts and something the size you need is in the $4,000 mark wholesale and would have to be built out by someone for you.

Thought about drawing a design of what you want and then have a carpenter build it for you?

We use this potting branch from world cost market as our grilling table/station: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/mobile/gray+wood+potting++bench.do?sortby=bestMatchesDescend&from=Search

You mentioned needing drawers, so maybe something like the ones below?

Potting tables like Runner mentioned are great - I have bought trash cans that fit under the bottom shelves and put charcoal in them to keep 'em dry. With some other galvanized accessories it looks great. I've even put in outdoor sinks made from galvanized wash tubs and water heater stands (and a lead proof hose) beside them. Good small kitchen for a deck.

You're kind of awesome!   |@|. I think we're going to go with the one with the pull out bin. It's exactly what my husband was looking for. Perfect!
