This thread may get more traction on the Parenting sub-board.

I think Decatur is the best kid friendly.

Dakota Blue in Grant Park. It's so damn kid-friendly that the one time I tried going there, I couldn't stand it and left.

That's not kid friendly.  That's parents don't have control of their kids and think it's ok to let them run around.  My KIDS don't want to go there because it's too loud and chaotic.

Exactly, unless things have changed in the past five years. One trip there with our kid made me never want to go back.

I go to Augustine's a lot with my kids and they are always treated well there.  Also, H. Harper Station is, surprisingly, very accommodating with our little ones.  Wrecking bar has a great kids menu that is just smaller portions of their adult menu!  We love going there too.

My kids LOVE the chicken friend rice at Spoon.

And Elder Tree has been nothing but nice to us.

We also do Holy Taco a fair amount, Dakota Blue (it doesn't seem so crazy as it used to be), El Mexicano, and Grant Central East  (probably the best bet for actually talking to grownups, because the kids are magnetically drawn to the semi-broken video games.

Saba now and then.
