Restaurants & Bars / Re: El Mexicano to Close on May 20
« Last post by hfranks on May 08, 2018, 06:55 pm »
This is super depressing.  :'(

It really is.  I'm in there at least once a week when I'm in town, and Arturo and the rest of the crew are awesome.  I liked how close it was and I don't know how often I'll make my way over to the new restaurant.

That.
"So, Patria Cocina is going to be more expensive? Well, at least it's twice as far away."
sigh.

Well, that's actually the good part for me...I'll be able to walk there once they open the interim beltline trail.

How did anyone ever walk anywhere before the beltline?  It's like we didn't know we could even walk!

Non-EAV Businesses / Boggs Social & Supply
« Last post by andrew on May 08, 2018, 08:42 am »
Seems a business with some EAV ties could be in the works for West End...

Quote
Boggs Social & Supply—a bar with a permanent food truck from Shane Pringle of the Earl and Tim Song of Gaja Korean in East Atlanta—hopes to open at 1310 White Street SW. Information on the new venture came from a neighborhood meeting held on Tuesday evening.

According to documents presented during the meeting, Boggs will be modeled after the “food truck pod concept” and anchored by Gaja Korean’s food truck. The truck will be located on the patio. In addition to its resident food truck, Boggs plans to have a rotating array of food trucks and a full bar.

Boggs will accommodate up to 250 people between its bar and patio with communal seating. Pringle and Song told attendees there would be plenty of parking and that Boggs would be walker and bicycle-friendly—a plus given its proximity to the Westside Beltline trail. The partners also plan to have on-site security.

EAV Properties / Re: 1358 Glenwood: "EAV Supermarket"
« Last post by Eurotrash on May 05, 2018, 04:35 pm »
Still no sale for the EAV Supermarket showing but the church lot next door at 1342 Glenwood was sold on March 27 2018 for $800,000 to 1342 Glenwood LLC (holding company of Phillipe Pellerin).

$800,000??? Yikes. For half an acre? I guess the price was high because it is zoned for commercial use, but I wonder how many condo's or apartments can be fit into that relatively small space.

Together with the supermarket lot the total land would be similar in size to Ironside.

Yeah, that is really cool. All I've been able to find out about my place is it was a bit of a flop house before the late 90s.
