EAV Businesses / Re: Brewery coming to former EAV Barbell Club space?

What Now Atlanta picked up the story: https://whatnowatlanta.com/sabbath-brewing-eav-barbell-club/ (Caleb Spivak, you in here?)

Not a whole lot of new info, but it seems the space is now confirmed. Owner is also coming from another "prominent" Atlanta brewery, remaining anonymous until August.  ???

Strange move, but OK.

"For obvious reasons" at that.  He's stealing trade secrets?  I don't understand what they are implying here.

Also, how does this work with the zoning?  I thought EAV couldn't have another place that sold alcohol b/c there could only be 2?  It does say they will sell beer directly to consumers.

I thought they weren't selling out the door.  I could be wrong.  I'm slightly pained that I have no idea what this beer is, coming to EAV.  I can't get my panties all wadded just over a brewery, I need to know it's good beer.  Oh yeah, why did they want to be here again?

Here's an example of some of the pure hot garbage being thrown up around here.

Just scroll slowly through the pics and let it all sink in. Note the asking price. And ponder what could have been if it wasn't builder garbage  "designed" by someone not even qualified for Fischer Price My First House Plan(TM) construction.

Wow.  Last thing I want in my living room is my cook top.

I gotta say...this place is seriously overrated and overpriced.
Five Guys is a better burger than the one I had yesterday at Grindhouse.

Yeah. I've been twice (to the one on Piedmont Ave) and really didn't see the point. Overhyped like Farmburger, as far as I'm concerned.

Ew.  Farmburger was very bland.  I've only been to the one in Dunwoody (used to work up that way), but I assume they're all pretty much the same.

EAV Businesses / Re: Yet-to-be-named restaurant to open in old MSR space

Best of luck to them. (But I have to admit that I kept thinking--Why doesn't someone open a conventional Italian or Indian or Chinese restaurant in East Atlanta? Or a diner that understands that a "Waffle house fix" involves waffles and omelets and home fries served both in the morning or at night?)

Would love one of these restaurants as well, though I guess Buffalo China and Burger Win count as Chinese, and the dearly departed Pasta Pomodoro in the food hall as Italian.

I've never understood why Atlanta has such a dearth of 24-hour restaurants. Is it just crime reasons? I lived in Austin before moving here, and I'd kill for a Kerbey Lane or Magnolia Cafe in EAV.

Oh, I love Burger-Win, and one side of me wouldn't want them to change. The other side wants them to open a full-fledged restaurant.

I suspect that, due to the new state craft brewing regs and the fact that their SIC is not a package store, they are allowed to sell up to a certain amount to the public.

Did my passive-agressive best on their most recent FB post.  "What kind of a licensing deal did you guys get with Itou Junji for the profile pic and marketing?"

How could I have done better without getting too excessive?

I thought about doing that exact same thing.  I bet they don't even know who he is, just saw that pic and were like "cool, blood."
