That's a shame.  The village really needs an upscale hair salon.
I am going to El Cheapo and put $10 in tonights pick three on 593 boxed/straight.

That is so wonderfully 80s!  So do I now have to go out and buy a man suit and a tie and smoke a big cigar so I can fit in with the boys?  SNORT!!!

Ironically, this might the type of shop that is good for the village (hard to tell, really, with all the current turnover). The concept has some advantages, hopefully enough to outweigh some disadvantages.

- draws from a wide area (I'm not a cigar fan, but I drive up to Sid Marcus to buy my FIL presents)

- draws a regular crowd (the place on SM is a little like a living room: smokey and everyone is watching sports)

- draws a steadier stream (not like an event)

- mainly daytime traffic (good for restaurants and shops alike)

- sufficiently niched, so there won't be a whole string of cigar-lover stores; and it might draw complementary businesses to locate nearby (similar to how Cheshire Bridge has a lot of antique places, maybe some other "man-store" concepts will congregat - new village tagline could be "Visit EAV for all of your manly needs"  8D )

I totally agree!  You'd get people in who may stay for the evening, going over to iLounge or Graveyard or Glenwood if that's more their fancy.  I'm pleased!

I dig it.  It'll keep me from having to head to Decatur for my manlysmoke needs.

And to think I squandered my 666 post on free speech crap.

Sometimes a cigar lounge... is just a cigar lounge.

That depends, Mr. President, on what your definition of is is.

Well played Sir!

Will it be just cigars or will they have whisk(e)y too?  That would be cool.

Buffalo Trace is now available at the Tower Package Store on Piedmont. Really good and very inexpensive stuff.
