I stopped by on Sunday and talked with one of the owners.  They're shooting for a July 4th opening and they plan for it to be a casual cigar store/lounge with couches and TV's.  I think they're looking for it to be a hangout for regulars along with the retail stuff.

This could be a nice addition to the village, or a very bad one... depending on the clientele catered to... you know?  Here's hoping they are planning for "upscale."

The quality of the interior construction THUS FAR seems to be pretty high.

Isn't a cigar store upscale by nature?  I mean, the only kinds of cigars I can think of that are not expensive and 'upscale' are  those black owl or phillies blunts that you use to make, well, blunts.  I don't think there is such a thing as a store that sells only these kinds of cigars, that would be kinda weird.  Unless of course, smoking those is a new hipster thing - then such a store would be very profitable.  If that's the case, I'm really out of the loop and I officially  |~ re: what hipsters are up to these days.

I'll be good as long as they have white grape and mango.  I just don't understand how you can call something a "cigar" if it doesn't taste like lik-m-aid fun dip.  I mean, isn't that just a big cigarette?

In the (gravelly) words of Patti Bouvier to her fiance Troy McClure: "it's like smoking five cigarettes at once."
On the bright side, he hit what he was aiming for...

Re: the /jack/: what's Buffalo Trace? A bourbon? I'm always in the market for a new one to cuddle up next to the Maker's on my shelf.

Re: the cigar shop: Sweet! I'd love a local smoke shop. Mmmmm...fresh, delicious Monte Cristo No. 2...

Yepper.  Good stuff and cheap.  Basil Hayden is still my favorite.  Even Williams will do in a pinch.

Basil Hayden is the best!

Blantons single barrel is the best!!

I have been interested in this space (as I am an avid smoker myself) ever since I saw the sign go up. Does anyone have anyone idea when they will be fully open?

don't know if it's the same people but there's a sign saying a cigar place is opening there soon. either called "Cigar Village" or "Village Cigar."
