Blue Frog Cantina = NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!

I ate their the other day with Mellamur's kids, and I thought the salsa and cheese dip were both extremely tasty.  I'd never eaten anything there except $ tacos on Tuesdays, which I always thought were fairly tasty for $1.  I decided to get enchiladas, and I was not a fan...I only ate one of them.  As far as it not being a great place for kids, I completely disagree.  My niece loves that place and has a huge crush and Julian.  My stepkids also like it, and Mellamur's kids think it's this best thing since PB&J.

My opinion: Good for kids, appetizers and drinks with friends = yay!, everything else = boo.

I think the quality of their food has going downhill anyway.  I don't think it has anything to do with ToEA.  We used to go for trivia all the time but I saw roaches crawling on the walls the last two times I went and I can't eat in a place where they can't keep their roaches contained.

Wow. I've never been a frequent diner @ BFC, but that pretty much put me off it for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I was in food service for years, and every restaurant has roaches, but madshak hit the nail on the head...they need to be contained!  Crawling around on walls or floors, especially with people actively moving about, is a sign that there's a problem infestation.

exactly.  We have made Matador our go-to place for cheap/fast Mexican.  I can get in and out under an hour and less than $20.  With those BOGO coupons in the savvy shopper, it's even less. 
We go to Holy Taco when we want to be fancy.

Hmmm...haven't been to Matador and we'll have to check that out. I LOVE Holy Taco, but the $50 we routinely spend there (for 2 adults & 1 toddler) always makes me cringe.

We had dinner at BF this week and it was good. Service from our waitress was good but the hostess was.... how can I put this......am.....a little confused by the whole seating concept

Right! I mean if you cant handle being slammed as a restaurant then you should be cooking at home. We gave up on them 2 or more years ago and I am surprised any EAV residents are still going there. I just assumed it was frequented by suburban posers because the last time I went they were HORRIBLE. Worst MexicanTexMexHispaLatinoLikePseudoCrap ever! The fact that on top of that they have the nerve to have the nerve to have crappy service? Well that's just too beautiful. Hence the Desperado quote.

Well, funny, because I was thinking the same thing the manager & Vigoda's Pants said.   Think just maybe it actually Remwas more of a valid reason than an excuse?

Trying to have a nice sit-down meal during a big event like ToEA is like trying to do a Georgia Dome tour during a Falcon's game. 

So the premise of ToEA is "come check out the great food our restaurants make, but please don't try to actually eat at them tonight"? I'm not sure I buy that. Were similar experiences had at other participating EAV restaurants?

Bingo ... I got a bowl of chicken tortilla soup there that was so salty I sent it back.  I don't like the place... It is also kind of dirty.
