Typical water line replacement should run $800-1,200, sewer can easily be $2,000+. Sewer line is usually more expensive since the elevation, fall in the line, and under house excavation have to be taken into account, it really depends on your yard.For the DIY crowd, make sure you contact GA811 (call before you dig) as cost can quickly get out of hand if you hit a utility line...I doubt I'll be buying the insurance, but if you have a house with 20 year old polybutelene, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea as that is about the life span. Houses with copper main lines can last 40 years or more. If you have a galvanized main line, it is likely at the end of it's lifespan...
