I'm looking for people to photograph. Not model's, but real people, like you and I.
Here's the scoop. I shoot for magazines, ad agencies etc. The type of people I show in my work are real people rather than Naomi Campbell types. I shoot artists, construction workers, families, athletes, business owners etc. I'm always testing new ideas and shooting new work for my portfolio. Which means I'm always looking for new people to photograph. So here I am, looking for people interested in sitting (or standing, running, jumping, whatever) for me. I do two types of work. Portraits and lifestyle - which is a fancy way of saying people doing stuff. Usually it's people having fun and interacting with each other, so more than 1 person in the shot.
I'm looking for:

Artists; musicians; craftspeople; bike riders (racers or urban bikes); boxers; local business owners; anyone with an alternative look; tattoos; new southern gentlemen; naturally interesting etc, etc. Age is not an issue!! I actually love shooting older folks with life and character in their faces.

People with their dogs: a possible portrait series. Especially interested if you have a bully breed or rescue/pound pup.

Athletic people - runners, bike riders, crossfit trainers, boxers and martial artists, yoga practitioners etc.

Families (Mum and Dad, kids etc) / Groups of Friends: this would be very lifestyle. I'm looking for multiple people to be in the shots. It's very fly on the wall, people having fun in the kitchen, sharing beers on the deck, washing the car, BBQing, riding bikes, flying a kit at Piedmont - almost anything.

What do you get out of this? Well, apart from hanging out with a strange English bloke for an hour or two, you'll get some amazing, one of a kind photo's. These are not you're typical family portrait pictures, but much more of a fine art photograph. I give everyone an archival, gallery quality print suitable for framing. If the shoot we work on becomes part of a series, it may even end up becoming part of a gallery show, which means opening day invites and all the cheap wine you can drink!

If interested or any questions, please contact me at:

check out my work at:

Please feel free to pass on to anyone you think might be interested.

Cheers!

Nick

Are these for your portfolio/fine art work - or do they end up in a stock photo house?

I have a french bulldog, she is pretty photogenic and engaging with the camera. is that something you'd be interested in? I've posed for artists before (nude, mainly) but that was many moons ago.

You've got some cool photos Nick.  I like the lighting on that first one of the guy looking off to his left.  The rodeo photos are really good too.

Hey folks, thanks for the responses!
If interested, it's probably easier to just email me direct and we can make plans from there.
Hollywood, to try to answer your question, I'm a professional photographer, this is what I do for a living, so yes, I try my hardest to make money from my work!! What that means though, is that I'm very careful about my reputation and being professional, so I keep as tight control of my work as I can. I don't do stock much these days. Stock is pretty much dominated by the $5 a photo crowd. That's not a business model I could feed a cat on, let alone a healthy beer drinking Englishman!

Cheers!

I could perhaps get permission for you to take shots of a gardening class at Burgess-Peterson. Lots of activity even when we're indoors.

I understand completely -- but people should understand what use you might make of their photos.  A lot of professional photographers take an interest in photographing tattooists/heavily tattooed people.  I've been photographed a lot.  And I know many, many people in the tattoo industry who have.  A good friend of mine in Australia who is heavily tattooed, straight, etc. consented to be photographed.  His picture ended up with Getty or Corbis -- and he was shocked to find out his picture was plastered throughout Australia on billboards, bus-stops, etc. in a heavily promoted ad campaign encouraging gay men to get tested for HIV.  The ad copy inferred the model, him, was HIV+.  And he was neither gay nor HIV+.  Not exactly what he wanted to be recognized on the street for.   Another friend has a similar incident occur with an ad campaign in the UK that he took as unflattering (others as funny) -- but after his being ribbed about it non-stop by strangers for a couple of years we all know it's a subject NEVER to bring up with him! LOL  Neither had any control whatsoever over how their image was used.  And I've had a couple of friends who were tickled pink at how their images were used after being photographed -- one for a very cool bank ad in Europe.  Not trying to scare anyone off, but it does happen if a photographer does not control their work closely and protect their subjects' interest in not seeing their photos end up being used in an unintended, perhaps unflattering or controversial way.
