Man, that's sucks! Getty are a-holes (my opinion). It is possible to have a clause saying images won't be used in anything "controversial", which means alcohol, smoking, disease, sex etc. But I just don't deal with stock agencies. If I'm licensing work to companies now, I do it direct. Which means I know what the use is going to be so I can manage things. Really, it's all about communication. I'm happy to talk to my subjects about what I do and how I'm going to use images. Just because some photographers are idiot's, please don't tar us all with the same brush. I'm a professional, not paparazzi scum! Of course in this age of Facebook, there's only so much you can control and the biggest incidents of embarrassing photographs is when people have posted their own pictures on the web!
If you're interested in chatting more, give me a shout direct.
