Yeah, I could see that being up your alley... some great scenes... I loved that the director was unforgiving with her. Let's get hammered!

The reviews have been raving about it.  I totally want to see it.  How much is a movie these day anyway?  Not been to a regular theater is about 15 years.

Did you get a seniors discount? ;-) I'm pretty sure we paid $10 for "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" 30 minutes later. (Also excellent, btw.)

Actually, they don't honor the Seniors discount for the matinee :)

I guess it was $10 - we bought popcorn with the tickets so I wasn't sure about the exact ticket price. To me, it is definitely worth the price. A couple of hours of fascination and laughing - $10 is really pretty cheap. How much would you spend on beer in 2 hours?

Movies cost $10 now.

Cue crotchety voice: I remember when movies cost $1.50. When prices started to go up, there were "dollar theaters" that showed second-run stuff.

ha! The "2nd run theater" is your living room now. And since so many people watch their movies at home, the sit-down movie house has to charge more.
I imagine the "go out to the movies" custom will fade out completely in 10-20 years or so...

It's a shame, because it really is a lot of fun to sit in front of the Big Screen.

As for the cheap movie houses, there's a place in Baltimore we called "The Buck"... I think by the time I was living there, it was actually $2 -

So, I just saw a matinee of "Young Adult" and it was $7.50.
Very good, but kind of depressing. At the end of "Up in the Air," I had hope for the main character, but not this one.
