zombie flicks (and everything else zombie)
« on: May 13, 2008, 09:31 am »
totally just realized that Diary of the Dead comes out on dvd next tues.  has anyone seen it?

so with all this talk about zombies i started looking for more zombie films i havent seen yet.  i just moved Fido up near the top of the queue and stuck a movie in the queue that i know is going to be so terrible it has to be funny....Flight of the Living Dead....oh yes...you guessed it....zombie outbreak on a plane!!!  anyone got any more zombie flick suggestions out there besides the obvious ED trilogy, Romero films, or 28s?

peter jackson's "Dead Alive"
just watched the Grindhouse "Planet Terror"...was good for a few laughs, but nothing great

been hearing a lot about a newish spanish movie called "Rec" (as in, the record button on a video camera) that's supposed to be pretty good - American remake already in the works. Don't know if Spanish version is out on DVD or not...
"everything is coconut these days." in related news, she went birding in Sri Lanka and had some great coconut water there.

planet terror and dead alive are both really funny.  good splatter action.

i'll have to look up rec and see if its out there.  worst case maybe find an all region coded dvd from overseas and order then circulate around for folks who want to see it.

And let's not forget the great contributions Zombies have made in the field of television!
Simpsons TreeHouse of Terror has lots of good stuff.

Homer: Take that, Washington!
[BLAM!]
Homer: Eat lead, Einstein!
[BLAM!]
Homer: Show's over, Shakespeare!
[clubs him to the ground]
Zombie Shakespeare: Is this the end of Zombie Shakespeare?

To me, clowns aren’t funny. In fact, they’re kinda scary. I’ve wondered where this started, and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus and a clown killed my dad.

What?!?!  Did Diary go straight to DVD?  I was gonna give that one a chance, even though Land was so awful.  Poor Romero, he sucks now.

Zombie Lake was pretty awesome!  Here you get underwater Nazi zombies:
