15+ years ago I watched a similarly angled documentary on Nike. As a result, I thought I would exercise my right as a consumer to only purchase footwear made in a/any developed country. (Figuring that Nike was the easy mark and it was an "industry-wide" issue.) That effort was as educational as the documentary.
that, or perhaps a different Michael Moore documentary prompted me to wear Converse All Stars as my exclusive casual shoe... because they were made in USA. Now they aren't... and they've doubled in price since moving manufacturing to Vietnam.
Hey, that ain't my quote! I've tried to purchase shoes made from the hides of the relatives of the little Cambodian children I'm so happy to keep employed, but that was also an education in futility.
