OK, so I'm an idiot for not piecing this together before - Grouch, you're moving up to one of "those" neighborhoods, aren't you? Explains the touchiness, so remember I never said everybody who lives up there is a douche, though there's probably a lot of pressure to become one.

Hmmm...last I heard I wasn't moving anywhere yet.   :(~

Yeah, we're house shopping, but so far we've been looking solely in the OP area (and surrounding 'hoods).

Well you've said you were looking for a new place and I was thinking back to your line about "BarHeel and me" being douchebags, and I know BarHeel has made the move. 2+2=3.5 though.

BTW, you should start a thread about your house hunt. I had a great time back in 2003 writing about all the weird-ass places we looked at.

I don't know anything about where BarHeel lives...I just assumed it was around here.   :(~
I was referring to the comment about shopping at ERDK instead of GK.

The house search has really been pretty casual.  We're not desperate at this time, but we are really struggling with the layout and constraints of our current house (a 2/1).  We try not to think of ourselves as overly picky, but damn...it's so hard to find something we can afford that just "works" for us around here.  We're looking at it like the house we plan to stay in for years and years...not just a stepping stone.

But I digress...

You should just take your current house down to the studs and add a giant roof and second story. I hear you don't even need a permit for that.

Yep, I did make the move across the Rubicon that we know as I-20. But lucky for me, I was a douchebag before I moved. So my life is a lot easier in our new 'hood amongst all the other douchebags.

But seriously: don't get me started on my 'fish out of water' stories. Family circumstances brought me here, but I still feel like a Beverly Hillbilly. On the bright side, the Ansley Kroger stocks both PBR cubes and tall boys. But man, are there ever a lot of douchebags there...

And on a related note regarding the very beginning of this thread: is it possible for CK to be a troll on his own website?  ::)
If he gets an MLB contract, all is forgiven.

You're not  being picky - you know what you want. We looked for almost 2 years for our "new" house. We weren't in a rush to move and that made it no big deal to look and not find the perfect spot. It was worth the wait for us.

BTW, were any movies ever filmed on the new road on which you live prior to Melamurmet's 1 and 2 living there?  I doubt it, and doubt it is a coincidence.
When you come to a fork in the road, take it.

No one could ever find the old road.  :P
