Not Excactly Breaking News:New Brick Store Pub in Grant Park

Some of you may have more info than me, but from what I've been told, the 3 owners of the Brick Store Pub(AKA the beer snob capitol of the southeast) have purchased the building on the corner of Confederate and Ormewood. I for one was really excited at the prospect as the EAV still does not come close in the beer selection dept. 

Except now it seems that they are stuck in zoning with the city and no progress has been made for what seems ages. 

Any updates?

I wouldn't think so.  Don't you think the Decatur location is only non-smoking be/c of Decatur, not be/c they desire it? 

On that note, a friend of ours was asking us to go there for dinner with them.  I asked, "But what about the kid?"  I keep forgetting that this isn't a problem there.

I didn't know about this. I love taking a cab to and from the Brick Store a couple of times a year and try many delicious, delicious, delicious beers.

If I didn't love beer so much, I would have the physical agility to do the backflip this news inspires.

I would agree with that (at least in terms of bottled beer).  Not a great selection on draft.

The Brickstore has an entire Belgian ROOM! I heard this rumor over a year ago, hope it pans out.

Unfortunately, I am not a big Belgian fan, but everybody says the place is cool so I really need to try it out.

How so? One thing that really bothers me about Atlanta is no "corner bars". You have to leave the hood and go to some "entertainment district". I am sure the zoning issues are related to parking.

The Glenwood has a pretty decent selection, especially compared to other places in the village.  Really though, it's not comparable to Brickstore.  Just checkout Brickstore's website, and bask in all the beery goodness.  IMO though, the Glenwood is far superior when it comes to food.
