Park's Edge
« on: December 02, 2010, 11:30 am »
We had a surprisingly awesome dinner there last night for my husband's birthday!  We were trying to go to Parish to satisfy his craving for their ridiculously good Cajun shrimp appetizer but they were cowed for a private party. On the way out, trying to think of a place to eat, we passed Park's Edge and decided to stop. Sooooo glad we did!

We started with a fabulous and well priced ($32) syrah/cab//malbec blend and they brought out great bread with roasted garlic. For appetizers, we ordered the Thai mussels (perfectly balanced spice and coconut in a great, not thin or greasy, broth) which were cooked just right, and the tuna crudo (a huge portion of tuna, again perfectly seasoned, on ripe avocado and tomatoes).  Both were delicious.  For my entree, I got the scallops over mushroom risotto and M got the sea bass over asparagus with garlic mashed potatoes with a spicy romesco sauce. Again, both were perfectly cooked and seasoned and were delicious. For dessert, we ordered the molten caramel cake with house made vanilla bean ice cream (which they comped).

With two more glasses of wine, the entire bill was $110.  The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the chef, Jorge, checked on us twice. I'm happy to say that will be one of our new spots!  And supposedly they have a great brunch!  Two clappy guys up!  :)% :)%

I think they're one of the restaurants that will let you bring in a bottle purchased from Hall's of Fine Wines with no corkage fee.

Their written menu was so nineties and uninspiring for the food to be that good. I think it needs a rewrite.

I was there last Sunday for brunch.  I love it.  Bottomless mimosas for 10 bucks.  Halved it with the scoutmobs and I got to drink like a champ while rubbing elbows with pretend upper classers.  It's a nice walk through the park from my house.  I'll gladly go back.   :)%

FYI, if you download the Scoutmob app you don't need to receive the texts to get the discounts.  You just login to the app and you can use any discount that hasn't expired.  Pretty much anywhere I end up for dinner, I check the app to see if there's a Scoutmob, just in case!

Good to see the owner pull out the Kirkwood defense.

Y'all racists for coming down on me for operating without a liquor license.

At least didn't compound the problem and reached out albeit years later.

WOW that may be one of my fave episodes of KN ever.
It is stunning how many people think they can open a restaurant if they have no restaurant experience.

I guess they filmed in in September

I hope the changes stick.
I felt so bad for the servers, I know one of them, we worked together  about 4 years ago.
thx for posting it!

Or maybe they're happy and content, living their little donut lives until the monstrous humans come along to rip their doughy flesh open with their teeth, sucking up their jelly innards.

but at least he admitted the error of his ways and apologized for the statement
Yes, I agree, with that I knew someone close that smoked and went to chewing tobacca. Used a spit can which was yuck, and then the door of his car.~Denise
