I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity but they've always worked for me.

Wow.  That's a fascinating chart, Angry.

Yeah. Provides some badly needed perspective.

So what you're trying to say is that sleeping next to someone and eating bananas may not be harmful in small doses, but when extrapolated to the nth degree they could equal fatal doses of radiation? Keep your puritanical views off of my body! ;)

The figures are old, however, the visual is impressive.

also awesome.
Though, a shorter way to say what was said in both of those posts (budget video, radiation chart) would be to just note that people are dangerously, borderline retarded stupid, fail to understand math entirely and need pictures to understand anything more complicated than "click here to respond via twitter".

Math is a difficult concept for a lot of people.

The surprising thing to me about that graph was how incredibly low some federally regulated exposure limits are.  For example, the EPA yearly radiation exposure limit for any member of the public is one-third the radiation exposure derived from a single mammogram.

And, living within 50 miles of a nuclear power plant for a year, less than one-tenth the radiation exposure derived from an arm x-ray, etc.

Ann Coulter Says 'Radiation Is Good For You' and Suggests Radiation-Bathing In Fukushima

No need to worry about radiation anyway.  It's good for you.
I think the powers that be just want to keep us all confused until we stop paying attention and turn on Jersey Shore.
