TRESTLETREE FOR SALE
« on: May 21, 2011, 03:55 pm »

though it is likely a long way off, if it happens and redvelopment occurs, this could really help the area. i think it is a positive sign that Aimco is willing to sell in this market. Perhaps the cost of appeasing surrounding residents sick of the crime, noise, and trash has lessened profits. the property was listed on 5/3. If anyone knows or works for people who redevelop, please pass this along.

i have been told this may be a marketing flyer from a multi-family  real estate seller who does not actually have the listing. if so, my bad.

i was told cushman makes these flyers and presents them to companies like aimco, as a means of enticing them to sell. I spent some time at their site http://apartments.cushwake.com/office.aspx?office_id=1&view=property_listings and it looks legit to me. i'm calling them monday to find out for sure and will post the outcome. god i hope they are selling.

I used to work for a commercial real estate company that brokered apartment complexes (a competitor of Cushman's, in fact).  I don't know how Cushman works, but we generally did not put together flyers, etc., until we had the listing.  If it's on their website, it's probably legit.

I worked with Cushman & Wakefield for years (we shared clients). They wouldn't post a flyer without having the listing, unless their policies have changed dramatically since I worked with them.

They have not returned my email/call, though I heard from someone who typically knows about these types of things and he confirmed that it is for sale. I am trying not to get my hopes too high but an Ormewood Ave devoid of the criminal element and noise of trestletree  (and perhaps one day a brick store pub off-shoot in the dilapidated green building) would be sweet.

Awesome that it's for sale, nice work!  It would be nice if it was purchased by a residential developer.  No Trestletree in this area would be huge.

I know that the main site for Trestletree is on Confedrate Ave. Does this sale include the both the Confederate and the Ormewood Ave sites?

So....what would someone do with the place? Tear it down and build houses or turn them into condo's or one story garden homes? I vote for a real Ormewood Park. Damn, I am getting green in my old age.

According to the flyer that was linked in the original post, yes

Two large sites on the BeltLine.  Now we just have to relocate LaFarge Williams Blue Circle (or whatever they're called these days) and buy that stretch of track from CSX Seaboard A&WP (or whatever they're called these days).

I would FULLY support this!  Barring that, something like Glenwood Park would be fine.
