L.M. Richardson - http://anhonestchimneysweep.com/

He did our initial chimney inspection and does yearly cleanings for us (we need it swept yearly because we burn a LOT of fires during the winter). He is honest and professional. We had a couple of minor issues with our chimney when Mr. Richardson first inspected it, and he actually took the time to explain to my husband how to correct the problems himself so we wouldn't have to spend any money that was unnecessary. He's a fantastic guy, and based in Decatur.

I will second this recommendation.  We've used them since moving into our house 2.5 years ago and we also burn a lot in the winter.  They've done cleaning, some minor repairs, and a major one all at a very reasonable price.  They also mail reminders once a year, usually with some sort of discount attached.

Had Larry come out today- didn't even bother looking for an alternative because of this thread- and have to agree w/ all I've read here. Very positive experience.

The cleaning was about $100, if I remember correctly. Sorry, I also had him install a damper, and I don't remember exactly how the bill broke down.

Ended up getting an appointment, they told me $150.

Doh, sorry for the bad (and tardy) info. Guessing you still made the right call.
