The Paintbrush (Next to the Earl)
« on: October 24, 2011, 11:12 pm »
Hey everyone! I'm the head instructor at The Paintbrush and I just wanted to drop by and let you know you can find more info about The Paintbrush here:
www.thefunkypaintbrush.com

We had our first class Saturday and our 3rd tonight (Monday). So far no one local has taken a class. We've had several people from South Cobb and far away places like that which is a good sign. I'm pretty excited to see that people that don't know or live in EAV are willing to travel to the studio. That gives us hope for longevity  :)%
Right now we are only offering Adult evening classes Monday - Saturday and an afternoon class on Sunday's. We will soon be offering pick and paint pottery in the afternoon and kids classes once we see a call for them.
There was a Groupon deal up but I don't know if it has sold out  yet.
If you have any questions (other than if Groupon is still available) I'd be happy to answer them for you.

Thanks! I've been around EAV for a long time (I've worked at Blue Frog & Gravity Pub, drank everywhere) but the owner of the studio is just learning about the hood.  I've been trying to convince her for a year that she needed to open here. Yay, I won!!  :)%

You may want to fix that link in your first post.  :)  Unless it really is The Fuky Paintbrush.

And . . . do you do parties?  My almost 13 year old daughter and her friends get together for drawing and painting sleepovers.  (so sweet I could eat them up!) and her birthday is coming up.

A little hard to find on the site, but it appears the standard cost for an individual to do a "class" is $25 - $35? That seems like a pretty good deal. I think the kids party potential is pretty high as the neighborhood gets more offspring growing into the 5+ population. Might be cool to work some combo kids-party thing with Holy Taco or someplace that can accommodate a group and throw some food their way before painting.

The concept seems pretty cool. A welcome addition to the 'hood.

The same Angelica formerly known as Princess on the buzz?  Is this the same art class thing you used to ask for rides to?

I think adding kids classes sooner than later would be a big boost for your business, especially with the cold weather coming. Having another indoor outing option for the kiddos would be great!

The kid's classes seem to be a good idea.  We would be interested in checking it out.

Yep, I'm the same Angelica. (Hey everyone!!) I can't remember my password for the Princess account and I never got the reset email so I just resigned up. The classes I was doing last year were in Woodstock but once my car went kaput that commute just wasn't working. Now that we have a studio in EAV I don't have that problem even if this ride dies! :-)
We will be offering kids parties soon. (I only teach Adult classes personally)   The cost is $275 for 10 kids and $20 each additional little one. You get to pick the painting. The cost includes 3 hours of studio time, canvasses, paint, brushes, instructor, and an Evite with the painting they will be learning. Kids parties can be anytime we don't have a regular class already scheduled. You can bring whatever refreshments you like. Just call the studio to set things up.
Regular Adult classes are Monday- Saturday from 7pm to either 9 or 10 depending on the painting. Sunday classes are from 2 to 4.  Two hour classes are $25 and Three hour classes are $35. I just found out the Groupon deal has ended.

Thanks for fixing the link y'all. It has been a busy busy week and my proofreading skills are pretty exhausted from my day job. It is most definitely not The Fuky Paintbrush!  :o

This looks really cool.  You've got some real talent on some of those paintings.

There is a coupon on your website for $12 for a 2 hour class under current promotions.  It says to click to view the offer but there is no link in it.  Can I just print out that page to use it?  And is that offer good for the grand opening gala on the 19th?

The link doesn't work because that was for the Groupon offer that has expired.  :-\

I'm excited about this. If you have a dachshund painting I could sell the place out!
