Just for police continuity, those areas up Clifton, Braeburn and in Marshal's Landing and Shoals Crossing should be annexed. Half of a dead end street being Dekalb and half being City? How retarded can you get? For the good of the area, we should be under one jurisdiction.
I don't have kids, but I have the sense to know that being in BPA's district is good for my home value.

I'd rather have DeKalb Unincorporated's taxes, water and trash services as I currently do.  That's what I love about my location- close to Atlanta/EAV without its govn't.

If you're in the city and want to reach 911 from a cell phone, you should call 404.658.6666. If you just call 911 on a cell, you're getting the jurisdiction of the tower you connect to. Not sure if there's a direct number for DeKalb 911. Haven't ever seen somebody mention it.

Are you not considered City of Atlanta?

That's the thing I live in COA but they switch me to dekalb

I like not being COA down my way.
Though I wish I could join EASP, so there are pro's and cons. It's pretty ridiculous the artificial boundaries... but, there you go.

Same. That was a major factor in choosing where we bought our house.

So I thought I'd throw it out there - would you support the EAV area (or at least the area within DeKalb County) leaving the City of Atlanta to form a new municipality?  [In a purely hypothetical sense, I realize that the likelihood of it ever happening is about one in a million].

At least the area within DeKalb County?  It is all DeKalb.  At some point going south down BC you have to have an CoA cut-off.  I get that, but I completely agree that the areas like Braeburn that are UniD should logically be CoA today.  I20 created an unnatural border that makes it very easy to see where the City should end in that particular area.  Living between Clifton and I20 and that close to BPA makes it seem weird to not send your child there.

And talking about public safety.  I can't imagine how little DPD would patrol that section of UniD.  In my dealings with APD and DPD I would totally agree with FL that I would much rather deal with APD.

Well, Moreland is the county line, and in my head I consider the immediate surrounding areas EAV, even if they're technically a different hood (Morelli's for instance).

I can be very frustrated with cOfa but give me the ADP over the DPD any day.

Question I have and pardon my not knowing, but when I call the police they talk to me for a sec and then figure out what address I'm calling from and they tell me they have to transfer me to Dekalb and I have to start my conversation all over again. Kinda frustrating especially if it was ever a serious emergency. Anyone else ever have this problem?

If you know which you should be directed to, whoever answers 911 just tell them immediately. That's what I do. We get transferred to Dekalb, and the first words out of my mouth are, "I need City of Atlanta."

Interesting.  I live on the Dead End that starts with City of Atl and comes down to me in UIDC.  Has anyone noticed your Comcast.  My Weather Channel says Decatur and I am further West than My CoA neighbor...closer to Decatur, who's says Atlanta.  That is what I find interesting.

ATank - I'm with you. Everytime I have called 911 I ask for Atlanta PD and am imediately transferred over.

Jaytag - That is one of the MANY reasons why I would not even pee on COMCAST of they were on fire.
