Holder: "Nobody at the DOJ has lied"

Quote
When Sensenbrenner pressed Holder on the distinction between lying and misleading Congress, Holder said it was a matter of a person's "state of mind."

Can we fire this piece of shit yet?

The best way to fire him is to not re-elect his boss in Nov 2012. That would solve many problems with integrity at one time.

Yeah, right, and I'm waiting breathlessly to hear who you think would fill that role better than his current boss?

While your comment on integrity is hilariously wrong, I'll posit that firing Obama will be a lot easier if Holder is still around. He has to know this - the criticisms aren't going away. I'm curious when Holder will be directed to fall on the sword. As I'm sadly fairly certain he's not going to be fired and arrested, his resignation can't come soon enough.

Do you know of some candidate imaginarium I'm missing out on? Because unless you do, those are your options. Well, except for the ones there that have completed their self-induced nutjob meltdowns.

While I'm not a fan of Holder, and agree he probably oughta be freed up to seek new opportunities, I think the implications on Obama's character - regardless of what you think of his policies - are probably a little tenuous.  Lest we forget the steaming pile he was handed in '08, I'd like to think he's done all right, and not been a complete dick.  I'da liked to see a little more spine outta the dude, but by and large I'm not unhappy.

Seriously, Grouchy, if you want to vote for some ideal candidate J. Hubert Pumpernickel, and no one else does, you're boned. You've got the slate in front of you. And ... uh... it's somewhat sub-optimal, don't you think?

Sadly Georgian is right, I fear. Obama doesn't seem to plan to fire Holder. Or anyone else, for that matter.  :([

Alfred E Nueman would be a good start.....   Holder needs to go sooner than later. Btw, neither side has any integrity. Both parties are in it for themselves and their corporate sponsors... not us :([

That's like whining about gravity. The current 2 party system sucks... we'll accede that is true. Now, operating inside that crappy universe, what's the next move? Not republicans... none of those clowns is anything more than a neanderthal sideshow... so, I've taken you in 2 quick jumps back to voting for Obama, who's done pretty OK with the crap he was handed.

I don't hate Obama, and respect the mess he was handed, but I do think he could have shown a bit (lot?) more backbone and should have called out the shenanigans for what they were.
That said, it's clear that the two available parties are not going to work together, ever, and are in fact ensuring that the entire system is going to explode sooner, rather than later.

I think a lot of the criticisms about Obama not having a backbone are from earlier in his presidency when he was trying to be the statesman and compromiser that he described in Audacity of Hope.  Once he realized how intransigent the Republicans were being, he stopped trying (for the most part).

Still...I think Obama's been the most accomplished Democratic president in my lifetime, and probably the best since FDR.
