Ye Olde Power Grid (Milton Place), 2012-Jan-08 Edition
« on: January 08, 2012, 04:23 pm »
Anyone else seeing random power flickering this afternoon (01/08/2012)? My electric, the grid servicing Milton Place has never been one of most consistently-good grids known to man, seems to be suffering as much as the Falcons' offense today. It's not as if I am doing much more than I normally would on a regular Sunday afternoon...

It's been flickering over here on Braeburn Dr.,  another buzzer posted on FB that power is out in the Oakhurst area so that's probably what's causing the flickering nearby.

Stokeswood, south of Ormewood.  It's like totally 2012 or something.  Uh, wait!  Oh, sheeyat!  :(~

According to Georgia Power's customer service software:    There are currently wide spread outages in your area. We anticipate power will be restored by 8:00PM EST on 01/08/2012. This message will be updated as more specific information becomes available."

Power was out on Moreland at the two lights(Wylie and Hosea Williams?) by the new car wash around 4:15. Back on by 5.

We were doing a big room cleaning while the lights were flickering and my son said, "Mom, I think the end is near."

Buying a heavy duty UPS for my computer rig and another dedicated to my router and modem was the most frustration-reducing move I've made in months. To the flickers and short outages I now say 'You can't touch this.'

+1, have had that for quite some time, worthwhile investment in this neighborhood.
