I liked Gravity better when Richard and Dorsey owned it, Burrito Art was next door, there were motorcycles in Graveyard, and The Sherriff roamed EAV. Thank Jeebus at least one thing has remained constant!
Which one?  Is there a motorcycle in graveyard I'm not aware of?

Pre "bar Graveyard" it was the "Motorcycle Graveyard" filled with old bike and bike parts.

I thought I saw The Sheriff roaming recently. Was it a figment of my aged mind?
I believe he's been in the pokey (for some pokey) for a few months now...

Dude, let Paulie have his little dream. Now you've gone and ruined it for him - he might as well move to Alpharetta.

Can't get rid of me that easily, especially in this real estate market.

Hi EAV Buzzers, Let me introduce myself. I am Ed the "new owner" of the GRAVITY PUB. In the past 6 months I have met many great people in the EAV.  I had heard from a few patrons that there was a community website that I should look at since there has been some recent writings about the Gravity. So I took the time to read the posts and hope that I can answer questions or rumors so that the record is straight. I purchased the Gravity "as is" on 03-01-11. I knew the condition both structurally and financially that it was in at that time. I still decided to purchase it for two reasons; first, it has great potential and second it reminded me of CHEERS but in this case I call it CHEERS with Tattoos.  I and my family have been in the food/ restaurant business for over 50 years. So that is some background.

What I heard from many of the locals that have been coming here since it first open up in 98 was not to change anything. But with any evolving business change is needed on occasion.  I didn't change the decor but one of the first things I did upon purchasing was to change the menu and fill up the taps and bottles at the bar. I spoke to many locals and looked at reviews online. That was definitely needed. So we put together a great menu and launched within the first two weeks. It went over well. We discarded 90% of the all fried menu and adding items for vegetarians and some other bar type sandwiches, burgers, unique items and dinners. All reasonably priced. Many people came out and tried it. We have received very good feedback. It is now 6 months since the new menu. There are items that sold well and items that did not. So we chose to make changes this month. we took off some items and added a few new ones.  We make everything from scratch ( so you might come in and we might be out of something at that time). The only frozen item on the menu is the TOTS. So redoing the menu was important so we could eliminate items that just weren't selling.  I think if you have been here since March1 and had something on the menu, most likely it is still there. If you have not been here since I took over, I hope you will give us a try.  Over the past two and a half weeks, we had a transition/scaled down menu. I did this so that I can prepare the kitchen for the changes. During that time two of my cooks were deployed and I have been hiring and training new cooks. So it made sense to get them going with the simple menu.  So, if you came in during that time, i do apologize if you were not happy with the menu selection or the quality. I make every effort to ensure that the food goes out consistent and of the highest standard. With that being said, To EAV BUZZ user JAMES- it is unfortunate that you happened to come in after a year and experience the limited menu. Furthermore that your meal was not good, especially the chips. You may have been there the same night i was. I wasn't working. I actually sat and had a meal with a friend to see how my new staff was doing.  Unfortunately, I experienced the same burnt chips as you.  I was able to do something about it. I showed the cook how it is to be done. He chose not to do that. Now he was asked to move on.  The chips actually come out like they are suppose to. So James, even though I am very hands on,  I am not there every night. But I would like you to come back and try something on the new menu, it will be on me. I want you to have a great food experience like many have since I took over. Just ask for me. I hope that anyone on here that hasn't come to the Gravity yet that you do so.

With all that being said. The new menu is on FACEBOOK @ http://www.facebook.com/pages/THE-GRAVITY-PUB-LLC/107444909930 Also, like us on there and you can get updates.

Here are some of the things we have going on at the Gravity, please come out and have some fun:
Sunday Nights- KARAOKE 8pm
Mon and Wed -POKER NIGHT (wed night is Wing Night $5 Wings)
TUES- Nerd Trivia and $1 Tacos
Thurs- The ORIGINAL Trivial Bingo is back starting on Sept 15th and $3 Pinnacle Drinks.

Starting Sunday Sept 18th we will be serving STEAK and EGGS Brunch!! Choice of Steak, type of Eggs, sides and either a Bloody Mary, White Trash Mimosa or House beer for one price- $9.95. This is new for us so give us a chance on the first Sunday if we have a few hiccups.

And Finally, we are in the process of renovating the basement so that we can use the space for you all in the coming months.

I hope I answered the questions and hope you know that we are listening to you. Just know that we work had everyday to please all but also know that that will be impossible because everyone's opinions are different. To that end, I look forward to meeting everyone in the near future. The Gravity and all the other neighborhood businesses need your support.

ED

I haven't been to Gravity in awhile since the Monday $2 well drink special was discontinued, I'll probably venture over there Friday night for a friend's birthday. Slim's still working there, right?

I believe Sim's regular schedule is Monday and Tuesday but he fills in a lot.  You can probably call and ask whoever answers the phone and they will tell you when he will be in.
During the other days, there are some lovely ladies working, Bethany whom you may know from many places or as a fantastic artist and some new hotties.  Oh yeah, and Steven.

Gotta say that the Gravity has always been a great food place in the village.  LOVED the pork wings.  It was tasty with the old owners and when you guys came in, the food continued to be great too.  My only menu complaint was there are no fries...sorry but the fresh chips are not cutting it.  NOTHING beats a fresh cut french fry.  I hand cut 1000's of pounds of fries at a fish fry in NY and nothing can beat a fry that was cut hours before.

Your BBQ is very good, some of the best in the city.

But I have to say we have not been back since the major changes.  Will try and get there soon.

Like the expanded beer selection, but the times we where there, soon after you bought the place our choices-Jailhouse IPA and Heffe were out.

Good luck and look forward to more from the Gravity

Ed, thanks for posting. I actually didn't have any food, just one beer with a friend. It was a Thursday night at around 10pm and it was the overall atmosphere that put me off. The juke box was turned off and the music was coming from tinny sounding boom box somewhere, presumably so some regulars could watch the Simpsons or Family Guy. The TV sound was competing with the jukebox. The place was in disarray as if it was being closed down for the night and the lighting was weird. Very dark in some areas, overly bright like "time to go home" bright in others.

Don't get me wrong I love dive bars, but that night it did seem like (as someone else posted here) I was hanging out in a drug dealer's basement.

I worked in the bar/restaurant industry for a long time and I totally get that sometimes a shop can just have a bad night. I will definitely check back and and give the pub another try soon.

It was me who had the burnt chips and I am very grateful for the offer to come in and try again.  I certainly will.

Beer Snob- Fries are back on the menu. Been having some stocking problems with Jailhouse over the summer. Should be better soon. When I first took it over there were stock issues for Lonestar and Jailhouse on the distributor side.

Insane0- Nerd Trivia is Tues at 8:30pm

James- Was having issues with Jukebox for weeks that why the boombox. They finally replaced with a new one a few days ago.

Tatumc- See you soon. Make sure you ask for me.

Great communications, GravityPub (Ed). Thanks. It's been a long time since I've darkened Gravity Pub's door but I'm thinking I'll have to make the rounds again sometime soon.

Ed, are you leasing the juke or do you own it? A good vending operator would swap out a faulty unit within 24 hours. They can also place a couple of pinball machines in the joint.  8)

It's more like irritating fratboy trivia.  I don't think you would like it.  However, Charlie the movie star bingo wonder boy will be back on Thursdays.

whaaaat?  I totally disagree with this statement.  There are the requisite questions on movies, star wars, video games, comics and other nerdy shit.  And they aren't like, "What was the name of Han Solo's ship?"

I agree with Bunni, when I've been it was very nerdy, not frat-boy at all.  They asked questions like "In the evil doppelganger episodes of Knightrider, what was the  name of K.A.R.R.'s driver?"  Lots of super geeky comic, fantasy, and movie questions.  Also gave bonus points for nerdiest team name.
