Where did this happen?  This taken from the Creative Loafing blotter.

According to several patrons of an East Atlanta bar, a rowdy Tennessee woman basically dove through one of the front windows. And she didn't even leave after she did it. She was still there drinking when police arrived. When an officer asked her about the oopsie, she denied falling through the glass, and just kept saying she "loves Atlanta and just wants to have fun." The woman was charged with disorderly conduct. The bar will be charged $1,300 to replace the broken window.

huh? how the hell would the patron not be responsible for this? unless there's more to the story.

I for one cannot imagine that there's more to a story published in a newspaper.

Isn't there a "dram shop" law which will hold a bar liable for continuing to serve someone who is obviously trashed?  (Though I think it is mostly cited in the instance of DUI fatalities.)  Maybe why it is the bar's responsibility to pay for the damages?   Any lawyers out there who could confirm this?

She could have been drink driving, and drinking something bought outside the bar.

IANAL- In regards to the Dram Shop Law, it is on the books in Georgia that, if there is compelling evidence that someone was served alcohol when they displayed obvious signs of intoxication, the establishment can be held liable.

It was 3 weeks ago.  A lady had been declined service at MSR due to already being intoxicated.  She then went outside an picked up a table an threw it thru the front window.  The police were called and an incident report was made.  The lady was not STILL drinking when the police arrived.  No one was injured and the window was replaced that night.  I thought I would end the speculation on this one.   She will be reimbursing the cost of the window.
