Buddy's Finally Has Good Wine
« on: August 15, 2011, 05:52 pm »
I was in there the other day and the new owners have added about 60 new wines.  All of it much better than the prior selection.  No need to head to Edgewood Kroger anymore.

Check it out!!

And I think they own Savi in Inman Park which also has good wine.

:)%

What I don't need is good (and cheap, too?) wine within walking distance!  Now I have NO excuse!  At least before I had Moreland traffic.  Well... Better get my shoes on....   |@|

Now maybe Tower will have to get their act together!   I tried and tried, but finally gave up and go to Green's instead.   I'll have to check out Buddy's.

Actually, the package store down Flat Shoals, right on the other side of 20 has a surprisingly good selection of beer and liquor. I can't speak for the wine but I assume it would also be ok. Maybe I was just spoiled by the complete craptasticness of Tower East but I actually did a double take when I walked in for the first time. It's no Green's but it's the best one I've found in the area.

You talkin' about Empire at Flat Shoals and Fayetteville Rd?  Yeah...they're one of the better options in the neighborhood...at least for beer and liquor.

Yeah, I had been driving to Green's for beer, but Empire has a decent selection.  They kept me happy with my favorite Abita Strawberry Lager all summer!  I don't know anything about wine though.

A few years back, I used to live on Cheshire Bridge with Green's on Buford on one side and Tower on Piedmont on the other. Talk about getting spoiled with good liquor stores! Then I move to EAV and my options are Tower East, Buddy's, Jiffy and Kroger... Serious downgrade. Thankfully, I just discovered Empire a few months ago and all is right with the world!  |@|
