I hope that any business opening in the Village will do well.  Having said that, I'm unlikely to use your services for computer repair as I built my own computer.  Also, the marketing done through the Buzz hasn't been great, it hasn't given off a good image so far in my mind.

I'd love to be wrong and have you be a successful business though.  Good luck to you!

Many people with computers these days know someone like me, who they inevitably end up calling for help for either free or a bottle of wine / 6 pack of cider, depending on how long I have to help them :)

Luckily for you though, the village has a very broad demographic.  As long as you get your name out there and provide reliable, honest, and quality service while respecting the privacy of your clients, people will tell their friends about you.

All it takes as a fledgling business is a few bad posts on Yelp or similar sites, and you could be done for before you start.

Make sure you are receptive to suggestions, handle customer complaints in a professional manner, and you've got a chance at success.

I built my computer and wouldn't have a use for a shop such as yours.  As there are quite a number of registered users on this board, you'll be able to find a few non-computer savvy people in the mix (that don't have friends who fix computers for free).   I would suggest presenting your material in a professional manner and pay attention to details, such as grammar and spelling.  The Buzz is a great marketing tool.
Or maybe they're happy and content, living their little donut lives until the monstrous humans come along to rip their doughy flesh open with their teeth, sucking up their jelly innards.

I have a Toshiba laptop that is less than two years old, and it has been a lemon from the start.  However, I am now out of warranty, and it quit working again this week.  I am too broke to spend a lot for a new one or even repairs right now, but I live on my home laptop for work and other things.  When I saw your original post of $45 for a service charge I thought it was reasonable and was going to give you a shot.  Then you started posting; so now I don't really know what to do.   :(~

dunno.  considering they're the only person with experience with the store, might carry a wee bit of weight.  although, yeah, not like we know you from adam to know  how good your word is, so to speak.
