Urban in the Big 10 should be an interesting show.

I'm not sure even Urban Meyer can make the Big 10 interesting.

I think watching how the other coaches deal with him will be a hoot! Wait till he starts running up the score on these guys! Think they are crying now, just wait.
Goilng to be hilarious. Wait until he starts fundraising and building facilities like the Big 10 has never seen before.

As much as I dislike Urban, the Big 10 is going to feel the burn when he is done. The only question is will Urban be able to sustain without medical issue and will he have learned his lesson about not putting on his efforts into one single player?

This is hilarious. So they have gentleman's agreement to not try and take a kid who has committed to another league school. I say league school because I doubt Michigan shows that courtesy to a MAC school. LOL.

This just shows that the Midwest is the inverse of the South. The Great Lakes is about the NFL and then college. People are not pining for Spring Practice like we are here. Friday Night Lights is a southern phenomena. Winning at college football is not as important as it is down here...except at Ohio State. Wisconsin is the #2 football team in its state after the Packers. Illinois is #3 after the Bears and ND.  The only school in the Midwest expecting a National Title every year is Ohio State and the proof is ...they hired Urban
(Psst! I think ND is in IN. Point taken, though.)

Chicago however is in Illinois and has the largest concentration of Catholics of any city in a America; so much so that there are separate high school leagues for public and Catholic schools. So yeah, Notre Dame is the the most popular college team in Chicago by far and more than half the state lives in Chicago.

Yeah, South Bend is basically an exurb of Chicago.  We got the Chicago paper, fer chrissakes.

More playoff ideas.

Not shocking that the playoff notions would become all the rage in the "other" conferences after last season's title game. I like the idea of games before the title game being played on campus and I actually like the idea (Dan Wetzel's) of always having the title game at the Rose Bowl. Generally separating the "playoff" from the bowl system makes a lot of sense, so that's cool as well.

I am pretty much okay with whatever they come up with as long as it is fair. However, always having the title game at the Rose Bowl, I'm not so crazy about. It will be harder for us SEC folks to get there. Isn't there a nice stadium somewhere in middle of the country big enough to hold the game? I also like having the title game closer to New years day. I don't like the spread out bowl season that much and I hope they will not have another debacle like they did this past year with 3 SEC games on at the same time. It is hilarious that the other conferences are all yelling for a playoff system now.

The Rose Bowl is a great permanent choice for a lot of reasons. Yes, it's way out there in California, but it's just a majestic venue that oozes college football history and tradition. It's huge, it's outdoors and the weather is great in January. Setting that as the goal every year would really drive home the greatness of college football. Yes it would be harder for SEC fans to go, but if you're springing for the tickets you can get yourself to Atlanta and get out to LAX pretty affordably.

Considering what he had (has) to work with and considering that Villlanova has been blocking Temple to Big East for a couple years, Commissioner Marinatto has done a hell of a job. I dont think he is done either.

How do you know it's the offseason? Georgia players are getting arrested again.

Any Ole Miss fans on the board? What's the story there these days?

Well, that's a given but you usually hear a little more from an SEC school that has a new coach. I guess we either don't have any Ole Miss fans on the board or no one will admit to it!

More likely no Ole Miss fans. I never see Ole Miss sweatshirts or bumper stickers around town. Guess they are more likely to end up in Memphis.
