That would be AWESOME!  I just went to Midtown Bowl today with the girls I nanny... Holy fun!  I had not been bowling in years, and I forgot how much fun it was.

I want to convince my husband that for our 30th birthdays in October we should have a drunken bowling party.... I think it will be vetoed pretty darn fast....  :(~

Mrs. Smiley and me have dreams of opening a bowling alley in the old masonic lodge.  Not a new fancy pants bowling alley with computers that keep score for you either, but a true old school, overhead projector, learn how to keep score bowling alley complete with arcade and sleazy lounge.  I think it would be fabulous...

That sounds so fun. Bowling alleys needn't be huge, Athens had a great place called Kingpins along the lines you describe, 4 lanes, bar, arcade. Unfortunately it's closed, though, which might not be a good sign. http://www.kingpinsbowlandbrew.com/
what the crap?!

I would totally become a regular!  Funny- my husband and I just drove by there an hour ago and I commented on how that would make a great venue.  And Go Sox and I chatted about it while she was in town.  Hmmm.....

This would work, actually.  The hipsters would "discover it" in no time.

I love to bowl.  No irony involved.

Ah, the thought of "Moreland Lanes" in neon on the outside.  Maybe with one of those two or three frame cartoons of a bowling ball smashing a set of pins...

70's orange, green, gold and brown laminate booths at the snack bar which serves processed cheese food nachos, corn dogs, beer, sodas, and yes, of course...churros.

oh, and we'd have to have one of those evil claw pick-up machines that have worse odds than a gas station slot machine....

If we are going all 70's then I want that Foxy Lady Lounge sign and we can have the Foxy Lady Lanes!!! I suggest we put InsanO in charge of the entertainment!

You have to have pool table too but full size ones not the coin ones. Takes me back to the North Center Bowl in Chicago. It was up a steep flight of stairs above a TV store. They shot a bunch of Color of Money in the pool room.

Great idea.  Y'all invest and I'll start it  8)

We can even get some retro equipment which seems fitting for the EAV.

Every time I dream about the Flatiron, it has a bowling alley in it.
