Needing another restaurant in the village
« on: June 29, 2011, 07:02 pm »
There is a restaurant and catering group searching in the EAV for space for a restaurant.  The question is What type of a restaurant does EAV need? Ideas?

There we go!  I was trying to think.   A good sit down Italian restaurant would be awesome!

Italian sounds great but I wonder if that would be too much since we have Grand Central (i know its mainly pizza) and that new Italian Bakery and Market that is going to open next to the Glenwood? A diner would be great too.

Skeeter--none of those things make me raviolis, lol.  I want raviolis made for me, but perhaps these guys should find out exactly what is going on with that italian bakery (like will they have specials of take home dinners?).  Personally, we never get the take home dinners, but we do go out to dinner 4-6 nights a week.

I want garlicy rolls, plaid table cloths with candles, portions of pasta as big as your head, endless salad or maybe a salad bar??, and slices of tiramasu that you eat even though you're already stuffed...oh, and lots of drunk Italians--my family will start!

I'd love to see a place like Twang or Crave come back: upscale southern-inspired food that isn't just something to gnaw on between chugs of beer. A date night kinda place.

Leah- my mouth is watering. L9obster raviolis, sinach and feta, pumpkin(during the winter), and so on and so on. How about a place that serves REAL Crusty Italian bread and not Kroger wannabee italian bread.

Greek/Mediteranean, or Indian.  Really anything with menu items other than what is already in the village.

I vote for Indian too.

However, a restaurant/catering group is not going to bring real Indian, so I'll settle for a sandwich shop with a plethora of veggie options.

A REAL vegetarian restaurant.

Real?  See The Grit in Athens.
