The link has tons of pictures and descriptions from each days ride of where and what, but I'll throw a few more up here too!

It was amazing and I covered a lot of ground!  Went through Big Bend National Park and I can honestly say put it on your bucket list...

More Copper Canyon region....

Some local kids who live in the area...

you had to love switchbacks for this ride!

This one seemed like it could be a place for a real life Avatar almost...

Cool, Gentri. Big Bend is one of my favorite places. Many people don't even know it exists.
I have wanted to take the train through the Copper Canyon for a long time.

Mrice:  Big Bend was a big surprise to me also in its variety and beauty... the whole trip was going around the next turn and being blown away by what lay before me... seriously an amazing trip... Copper Canyon was monstrous in the scope and depth of it's beauty....

The first time I went was in the '80s and we spent most of the trip from Austin trying to identify the roadkill on what seemed like a flat highway to nowhere. Then suddenly you're in an entirely different world.
The dog in my avatar was named after the Chisos Mountains. Next time we go I want to stay at the state park, which is supposed to be even more rugged, if you can imagine. I also recommend Davis Mountains State Park, the McDonald Observatory and Guadalupe Mountains National Park/McKittrick Canyon if you head out that way again. The Gage Hotel in Marathon and The Hotel Paisano in Marfa (where James Dean et al stayed during filming of "Giant") are great for when you're tired of roughing it.
I hope you rode home via Del Rio and Amistad Dam. Sorry, but you made me nostalgic.

Nothing wrong with nostalgia for awesome adventures and places.   :)% :)% :)%

I was moving fast but went via San Antonio, stayed overnight in Amistad Park in Del Rio, then rode the whole way to Big Bend to overnite, and then through Big Bend National and State Park, along the River, up to Presidio/Ojinaga where I crossed into the state of Chihuahua and headed to the city of Chihuahua... the ride is beautiful in so many ways.

The loop I did in Mexico was border crossing in Ojinaga,MEX 16 South to Chihuahua, Cuauhtemoc, Creel, Urique,  batopilas, La Bufa then East to Parral, Saltillo, Monterrey for 2 days then North through the border at Nuevo Laredo.....     the North to San antonio..... Texas is one long ass state for sure!

The landscape you are riding through is just amazing... would go again in a heart beat
